Exploits
Bunni.lol
Bunni.lol
I never thought I’d be writing about Bunni.lol like this, but after recent actions taken against developers, I feel it’s important to share what’s going on.
Recently, the lead Windows developer for Bunni.lol, lxzp, was abruptly removed from the team. The reasons behind his firing are unclear but what followed is what’s concerning.
Reportedly, Peyton told lxzp that Bunni will continue to use his source code. In other words, instead of respecting his removal and the work he contributed, the plan is to hire new developers to maintain and build on top of lxzp’s codebase code that is no longer technically theirs to use, given the circumstances.
While lxzp wasn’t the sole author of the source, his contributions should be removed out of respect for his departure. In fact, lxzp himself specifically asked that his code not be used going forward, yet those wishes are being ignored.
To make matters worse, lxzp is only 15 years old. From the outside, this situation looks like exploitation taking advantage of a young developer’s work and discarding him when convenient.
Bunni, do better.
